'The matriarch comes - African elephants'

These guys in South Africa came out of a large swampy area in Pilansberg and actually surrounded my car. The matriarch on the left took her herd protection role very seriously indeed and for a time I thought I may be in hot water. But she just blocked me in on the narrow bush track so I couldn't move the car or hassle the babies and having made her point about my insignificance left me in peace :)) ...geez I love elephants!!!! I feel this painting gives some idea of the living power that is the African elephant........... and if that is true I have achieved my goal :))
